Hello to friends and family of Bonsai Media Group!
My name is Kevin - I'll be interning at BMG for the remainder of the school quarter. I'm currently a student at The Art Institute of Seattle and I'm majoring in Interactive Media Design. I'm super excited to join the staff and get started asap. I know that I have much to learn and I'm eager to get started. I hope my contributions will make a great impact on both the image and services at Bonsai. Thanks to everyone on the team for the warm welcome - this is the perfect work environment.
My background in web design has mostly been on the front end; graphically - visuals, layout, navigation, etc. But within the last few months, I have delved deeper into the world of coding and the techy stuff such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - Thats why I'm excited to be working in this environment with the services that Bonsai provides. There's a lot of room for growth here - and much like a bonsai tree itself, I feel that BMG will provide me with the knowledge, education, and inspiration to mold my skillset into a flourishing accumulation of tools for achieving great work in the future.

Sound Insurance is ranked #1 for Seattle Auto Insurance AND Wa Auto Insurance
No April Fools joke here, Google "Seattle Auto Insurance" for yourself!
Everyone is buzzing around the office as another Bonsai Client is now top ranked in the map for their industries most competitive terms. Sound Insurance is now ranked #1 for Seattle Auto Insurance AND Wa Auto Insurance. The two most competitive terms in the Seattle and Washington markets.

So what does that all mean? According to an industry study the #1 Ranked site receives 42% of the clicks for a given keyword. The image below is a screenshot from Google Keyword Tool:

As you can see there are 5400 people searching "wa auto insurance" and 3600 searching for "seattle auto insurance" for a total of 10,000 searches (Note: Google normalizes there data so it's not exact but gives us a good idea of how many people are searchging for each term). That means Sound Insurance can expect to see 4200 additional visitors to their site from just those two keywords.
Also, notice people are paying $37.89 on average per click for seattle auto insurance. That means if Sound Insurance had to pay for the "organic" traffic they're recieving they would have to pay $57,289.68! Just for one month! If they also had to pay for the wa auto insurance traffic they'd pay an additional $53,479.44. That means they're saving $110,769.12 every month by employing Bonsai Media Group to manage the Search Engine Optimization. We're here to serve our clients. Do you want to enjoy these kind of rankings? Do you want to drive new business? Seriously, do you? Call us! We're dedicated to results. We're inexpensive. Now is the time to do it, before the ship sales, it's more competitive and we're more expensive :)
To all you working warriors, my hats off. I'm signing out. And getting back to acheiving rankings.

I am new here at Bonsai and here's my little story.
I am not professionally trained in graphic design but somehow have become a “graphic designer” recently and a potential web designer. Thanks to Elliott for showing me a great video that discusses the differences between graphic design and web design. After seeing it, I feel like I am on my way to go for web design.

Yes. I am a newbie in design, and web design to be specific. Being with Bonsai, I could sense that I can always learn something new about design each time at this internship opportunity. At first, I was kind of overwhelmed by the amount of new stuff/books/ideas/terminology… but thanks to Google and Wikipedia, I am able to at least get a good start on what’s going on with PNG, WYSIWYG and so on. Though what I will be doing here is more related to web design, I still find these skills and knowledge are valuable to my print design work.
Coming from a print-based world (CMYK-jpge-ai-pdf environment), I have to start thinking in the web-based design platform (PNG, CSS/HTML, file-size, loading time, usability, hierarchy and all that.) This is just the beginning of an extremely long list. But I am sure by the end of this internship, I might be able to know “enough” and call myself a web designer. Thanks to Bonsai, "Don't Make Me Think", and "Beginning CSS Web Development".
I am also telling myself to have fun and learn as it goes. So walk with me.
